18th Century Biot Jar
Age
Antique, c. 1880
Then and Now
For centuries, Biot was one of the primary pottery centers in southern France. Local potters produced these vessels for farmers storing olive oil, grains, preserved foods. Over time, many were retired from agricultural use and moved into courtyards, gardens, and entryways throughout Provence.
A Little Note
Each piece was handmade and due to the craftsmanship will vary in size and colour. Expect imperfections and patina in keeping with age.
Care
Warn and weathered, these hero pieces are not afraid of a little rainstorm and can be kept inside or out.
